Found this place while asking AI where to do homework. It rated this place like 3rd when it should've been first! Overall vibe is moody and cozy, but the tables all have chargers and have excellent task lighting. The staff was super friendly and the coffee was great!

I am an avid coffee shop enthusiast who is always looking to support unique, local, and small business shops. I was visiting McAllen TX for work and came across this wonderful coffee shop. I made this spot my go to every morning during my work trip. The employees were wonderful and caring. They take the time to get to know their regulars (even regular out of towners) and build relationships. The atmosphere is relaxing and perfect if you want to get some work done or read a book. The coffee quality was INCREDIBLE. During my visit, I tried their house vanilla latte, brown sugar latte, and horchata latte. Everything I tried was fantastic. They make their syrups in house. The food items (bakery/pastries) were also delicious. I tried their pizza pastry, yummy! Their chocolate chip cookie, amazing! Solum is a true gem. I’ll be thinking of Solum back home!

Absolutely stunning coffee shop. The staff greeted me immediately, and I ordered the Mangonada Cold Brew—it was excellent. The design and ambiance are top-notch, and there’s plenty of comfortable seating whether you’re meeting friends or getting some work done. Easily one of the most beautiful coffee shops in the RGV. Highly recommend.

I saw this place on TikTok and really wanted to try it out because of the whole vibe and aesthetic, especially since I wanted to look for a place where I can bring my laptop and study as well as drink some Matcha. When I first walked in, it was very beautiful very nice. Only thing is I did not know how to order. They have a screen where you can place your order, but I had no idea how to place an order or to even begin looking at a menu. I was hoping to see a spring menu or something that would be easy to read, but unfortunately I couldn’t and there was a line behind me so I let the girl in front of me go and her as well. She did not know how to work it. So we were both there looking like we didn’t know what to do! And for a while, no one helped us… Anyways, I ended up ordering a Matcha and I got my husband a banana latte and honestly the drinks were mid. I want to say I ended up spending close to 15. So that was a little disappointing. I wish they had an easier way to order coffee or at least a menu that is easily readable. And for a big place like this, they only have one restroom. Overall, I loved the atmosphere in the vibe, but the only thing that I did not care for was the drin

Every coffee that I have tried here has been amazing!! Their pastries are so different and unique that you want to try everything. The employees are super welcoming and knowledgeable that you can feel free to ask questions and get suggestions on what to order. The atmosphere is very warm and calm while still being aesthetic. I would so recommend trying out Solum!! 🫶
